Installation Note 35929: An Intelligence Platform add-on installation to an existing Intelligence Platform installation generates an "unable to connect" warning message
When you perform an add-on installation of an Intelligence Platform product (for example, SAS® Enterprise Miner™) to an existing Intelligence Platform installation (such as Enterprise Business Intelligence), you are prompted for the SAS Internal Account: Unrestricted Administrator credentials.
The dialog box appears as follows:
Because you are adding products to an existing deployment, the configuration of the add-on products requires access to the existing metadata server.
The metadata server must be running so that new metadata objects can be created and existing metadata objects can be referenced.
If your metadata server is not running, you will see the following warning message box:
To fix this issue, start your metadata server service.
Note that the metadata server must continue to run throughout the remainder of the installation and configuration of the add-on product.
You can start your metadata server and submit the credentials again without exiting the
SAS® Deployment Wizard.
If you cannot start the metadata server from Start ► My Computer ► Manage ► Services, inspect the SASMeta_MetadataServer_<date>_<time>.log in
C:\SAS\EBIEDIServer\Lev\SASMeta\MetadataServer\Logs\
for error messages and address them.
You might also be prompted for other identities, such as the SAS trusted user (sastrust) or the SAS spawned server user (sassrv), depending on the products that you are configuring.
You must supply valid credentials or you cannot proceed.
